Yvonne Perry’s latest book: Light Language Emerging

Humanity attempts to settle on an answer to the question of “reality”. Philosophy and religion attempt to encapsulate thoughts on the matter into an idea, the oldest idea known to man: That being is one, identical with God the Creator. In every age and in every corner of the world that idea is rediscovered. Humanity finds that idea fulfilling. And humankind can rest comfortably on the fact that it will never perish. Assuredly, nothing will ever finally replace it in human consciousness. There remains only the problem of communication: A language is needed to communicate in an “all being as one reality”. Thus, Yvonne Perry’s Light Language Emerging beacons and fires the imagination with sounds, movements, and images that arouse joy, exhilaration, and the anticipation of a new day on the earth.

Perry speaks to the possible human experience with fresh, new words and images that render imaginings fitting to the present moment in evolution. Light Language Emerging is captivating and nearly impossible to put it down, hypnotically leading into an immediate second reading. While the Church limits light language to church services and prayers, without reservation, Perry blows the doors off that stifling prison of thoughts about its purpose and potential by using varied candid stories of speaking, signing, drawing, and dancing in light language. In so doing, she catapults readers into a world of galactic portals and dimensions where communication does not necessarily depend on reason, understanding, and context. Simultaneously, Perry plants readers into deep communication with the unknown world of infinite mystery while appealing to all the senses, both spiritual and physical. I conclude light language can lead to personal discovery and an entirely new human experience for many individuals.

This Week's Podcast Guest: Author and Publisher Monica F. Hudson

Monica F. Hudson is a woman on a mission. The author and publisher from Little Rock, Arkansas seeks to deliver God's message of love through her writing. This week, it was my pleasure to interview Monica about her latest book, Over There: Raindrops of Reflection. It's an eloquent and deeply moving devotional about God's promise to the world.

These days, many authors choose self-publishing as the best way to retain control over their work. Monica, however, took it one step further; she started Hudson Publishers, which publishes nonfiction Christian books based on discipleship and empowerment. In addition to her literary career, she is also a member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and a twenty-plus-year veteran of the healthcare field. Her tireless energy and commitment is an inspiration to writers everywhere.

This Week's Podcast Guest: Author and Animal Activist Chris Hammer

It is not often we meet someone who really lives their passion, so you can imagine my       delight to meet a person who's devoted to two! This Friday, author and animal activist Chris Hammer discusses her new novel, Family Can Be Murder. It is a suspenseful,  fast-paced thriller that will have you laughing one minute and scratching your head the next.
Jane Grotto, the star of the story, isn't looking for any trouble. She is content to run her car repo business, have Sunday dinners at her parents' house and hang out with Fred, her feisty but good-natured Chihuahua. But when Jane's favorite cousin is accused of murder, trouble finds her. As she races to prove his innocence, she stumbles into a closet full of family skeletons, one of which is definitely worth killing for. Jane isn't looking for romance either, but when sexy NYPD detective Lou Lotedo shows up on the scene...well, let's just say there's only so much temptation a good Catholic girl can resist. Like any book you can't put down, Family Can Be Murder is over far too soon. Luckily for us, it is only the first installment of the Dysorganized Crime Series. The second book will be released some time this fall.

Family Can Be Murder is her first novel, but it is not her first book. Her debut short story, Bixby and the Wolf, won international acclaim and was ultimately developed into a short story collection, Bixby’s Canine Capers.

Chris is also the Founding Director of Irving House Animal Sanctuary; a rescue organization she established four years ago for the care of abandoned senior and special needs animals.  The organization is named for her first "client", a blind pit bull named Irving.  Since she was a child, Chris wanted to do two things: write, and help animals, and she is living both dreams. A portion of the proceeds from all book sales will fund Irving House.

To read more about Chris' incredible work with animals or to order her books, please visit http://www.irvinghouse.org/
And be sure to tune in to the WITS podcast on Friday!

Join Us for a Conversation with Novelist D.J. Williams

There's only one thing better than a novel you can't put down, and that's a novel you can't put down and teaches you something. D.J. Williams' The Disillusioned is a such a story. It is at once a suspense thriller and a call to action to end the horrors of human trafficking. Tony Guerrero, the founder of F.A.C.T. Alliance (Fight Against Child Trafficking, calls it, "An engrossing tale ... makes you think about the world we live in and your place in it."

After their mother's suicide, Sam and Daniel are forced to leave their comfortable worlds behind and search for a woman they believe can unlock the secrets to her death. When they travel from Los Angeles to the heart of the Zambezi, they enter a world where death is one breath away, where thousands of children are disappearing into the darkness, and where the woman they are searching for is on the hunt for revenge. They will even come face to face to with the Devil himself.

The Disillusioned may be his first novel, but Williams is no stranger to storytelling He has produced and directed over 140 television episodes syndicated on NBC, ABC, FOX and various cable networks worldwide. Review for this Book

On the best of days, life is complicated. Now, imagine one day you wake up in a body not your own; in a place not your home and you may not even realize this has happened. All you know is that you don’t feel like yourself and you don’t feel like you’re home.

In Walk-ins Among Us, Yvonne Perry does an admirable job of introducing us to such a phenomenon. A complicated subject is addressed with a focus on kindness to the self. Through various references, resources and techniques, Perry takes us into a world that some might view as science fiction, yet might answer many questions for many people.

“An idea gains validity when enough people talk about it in a way that makes it safe to accept.” This is true of any idea. Unless we feel safe to explore our lives and a myriad of possibilities, we leave ourselves potentially missing something that might easily guide us along the path. Whether you are a walk-in or not, being able to venture down this road with the author will allow you to consider possibilities beyond what can be seen or touched.

Yvonne Perry shares her enthusiasm for the subject as well as personal experience. She cites other experts in the field, and you are given enough references to do your own research should you wish. In spite of the focused subject, Perry’s suggestions are valid in any walk of life.

In this book you will learn ways to determine the difference between feelings and emotions. You’ll discover ways to make honest and true-to-self decisions. Now add the offering of kindness to self during times of spiritual growth and anyone can glean something of value.

If you were to wake up a stranger in a strange land, wouldn’t you want a kind heart to show you where to start? Yvonne offers that kindness as she gently points the way for others who have experienced her journey. “There are many variations of walk-ins and soul exchanges, so do not get caught up in labeling your experience.” All too often, we identify with whichever label we’ve been given or adopted. That in itself is limiting and Perry guides the reader toward more expansive understandings.

Regardless of your belief system, the author provides the open-minded reader with insights and guidance that will help any spiritual journeyman. If you are a walk-in, you’ll find a kindred soul to welcome you to your new life.

Reviews for this Book

Yvonne Perry has written an exceptional book for our times. The timing couldn't be more perfect as more and more people are seeking answers to what is happening to them. When I started reading I just couldn't put it down. It is well written, and she is well informed on the subject of Walk-ins, because she is one herself. Sharing her own story and the stories of others, answers so many questions and as people discover changes in their lives, and/or shift in personality, they will be seeking answers. Walk-ins Among Us, brings answers and much more. I would recommend this book to everyone. I liked the fact that she added her research right in the body of the book instead of in the back pages. This book brings to the consciousness an understanding of this phenomena of what is happening with people every day, and I believe this subject of walk-ins will find itself in many circles as people change, shift and seek answers. Anyone who reads this book will find a wealth of knowledge and it will bring peace and comfort to those who have this experience, because they will know they are not alone. For the seekers, they will find direction, and understanding and most of all HOPE. It was my pleasure to read this book and offer my review.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Noted author Yvonne Perry has another winner, an excellent well-written book called Walk-ins Among Us in the paranormal genre. The title echoes in the ears of those who read the popular metaphysical book called Strangers Among Us by author Ruth Montgomery in the late 1970s. Exceeding Montgomery's prose, Yvonne deftly blends the explanations of how the walk-in experience unfolds; clarifies the united viewpoint of those who have walked-in; and reports why more of these experiences may continue. You'll enjoy Yvonne's straightforward approach, written with the authority of an investigative journalist and her transparency, shared from an open heart.
Join Us for a Conversation with Novelist Tanya J. Peterson
What do you when your seemingly normal life is suddenly ripped apart by mental illness? Tanya J. Peterson explores this question in her new novel, Leave of Absence. It is the inspiring and disturbingly realistic portrayal of a man and a woman being treated in a mental health facility.
The book is all the more true to life because it covers both situational depression and a lifelong illness. One character has been hospitalized after the loss of his wife and child drove him to attempt suicide; the other is struggling with a recent diagnosis of schizophrenia. The bond they forge will be the only reality they can cling to while in treatment.
It was my pleasure to speak with Tanya about her love of writing, as well as her commitment to bringing awareness to mental health challenges and other social issues. Her previous book, Losing Elizabeth, is a Young Adult novel about a girl involved in an abusive relationship.
This Friday's Podcast Guest: Novelist Tanya J. Peterson
Tune into the WITS podcast this week as author, counselor and teacher Tanya J. Peterson discusses her  new novel, Leave of Absence. It is the story of two people from completely different worlds who find themselves admitted to the same mental health facility. As they struggle to rebuild their lives, they find that the only reality they can cling to is each other. This moving story explores not only the devastating effects of depression and schizophrenia on the mind, body and soul, but the healing power of friendship.
Leave of Absence is more than an excellent read; it is also a reflection of Tanya's life's work. She is passionately committed to bringing awareness to mental health issues; however, rather than writing self-help or nonfiction books, she has chosen fiction as the vehicle to deliver her message. She believes that novels can reach a broader audience, and to this end, lets her characters do the talking in the context of a tightly woven and entertaining story.
Tanya holds a Bachelor of Science in secondary education, a Master of Science in counseling, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. She has been a teacher and a counselor in various settings, including a traditional high school and an alternative school for homeless and runaway adolescents, and she has volunteered her services in both schools and communities. Her previous work includes the novel, Losing Elizabeth, about a teenage girl involved in an abusive relationship. Join Us For a Conversation with Writer Dan O'Brien
When I scheduled this interview with Dan O'Brien, I thought the conversation would primarily focus on his new Science Fiction novel, The Path of the Fallen. Little did I know that this fabulous book was only the tip of the iceberg, for O'Brien has written not only several novels, but screenplays as well.
Moreover, he doesn't just write Science Fiction, but everything from romance to philosophy. To realize how rare this is, you only have to ask a writing instructor. He/she will tell you that they advise their students to first: write what they know; and second: pick a genre that speaks to them and excel at it. Luckily for us, all genres speak to Dan.
We're also fortunate that his commitment to the craft of writing goes far beyond his own books. He has started a consulting business to help others get their stories to market. And given the scope of his own work--and the fact that he has been published both traditionally and independently--he is perfectly positioned to do so.
WITS Podcast: Self-Publishing Guru Dara M. Beevas Talks about The Indie Author Revolution
Anyone in the book business these days knows that self-publishing has become a powerful force in the literary world. Gone are the days when self-published books carry the stigma of not being "good enough" for agents and traditional houses. On the contrary, many authors are choosing to forgo the querying process altogether, simply because they want to maintain control over their work.
That doesn't not mean it's easy (because, let's face it, not much is easy when it comes to writing and selling your book). Self-publishing can be extremely daunting, especially for first time authors. Someone who just wanted to write is now making critical decisions about formatting their manuscript (and cover art!) that can really impact their book's reception in the marketplace. They also must be ready (and sooner rather than later) to promote both themselves and their work through traditional and social media.
That's why Dara M. Beevas' book is such a godsend. Drawing on her experience as both a traditionally and self-published author, Beevas has created a comprehensive guide to joining the indie revolution. Also apparent in the book is Beevas' passion for mentoring other writers, which is no surprise, given her "day job". Beevas is Vice President of Beaver's Pond Press, a Minneapolis-based company created for the sole purpose of helping indie writers get their story (and a quality product) out into the world.
This Week's Podcast Guest: Sola Olu
One of the most wonderful things a couple can hear is that they are going to have a baby. With joyful anticipation (and a healthy amount of pre-baby jitters) they prepare for their child’s arrival by shopping for tiny clothes, a stroller and a crib. There is no way to prepare, however, for the news that something is wrong with the fetus. Sola Olu's new book, The Summer Called Angel, A Story of Hope on the Journey Through Prematurity chronicles the struggles that she and her husband faced after the premature births of not one, both both, of their children.
Sola's book, which began as her private journal, gives a real time account of the horrifying complications that occur when a baby is born before the 37th week (a 40-week pregnancy is considered “normal”). These life-threatening issues include weak muscles, an underdeveloped brain, and heart and lung problems. As she and her husband nursed their tiny babies through one medical emergency after another, they drew on their faith in God and love for each to get them through
Join us on Friday when Sola Olu speaks about her mission to engage, educate and comfort other parents of premature babies.
The Summer Called Angel is currently available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Join Us for A Conversation with Author Luke Hays
If you're interested in mysteries, murders, and mystics, be sure to tune in when I speak with Luke Hays about his new novel, Psychic Detective.  Set in 1883, the story centers around New York Pinkerton Detective Henry Larsen, who is called to California to solve a string of brutal killings in the small town of Littleton.
To say that Larsen is a gifted crime solver is an understatement, for in addition to his traditional sleuthing skills, he is also a psychic. Of course, given his profession and the era in which he lives, he can't let anyone find out about that! No matter what, Larsen will do whatever it takes to find the killer before he can claim his next victim.
Luke Hays, a born and bred New Englander, has been a prolific writer since grade school. At 21 years old he has already published two novels and is currently working on a third; which is the second installment of  his trilogy, The Blood Line.
Join Us for Part II of Our Interview with Apostle Kevin A. Johnson
Last week Apostle Kevin A. Johnson spoke with us about Dust Collector, his step-by-step guide to holistically transform your life. Today, the dynamic minister, author and counselor will discuss his follow up book, Sabotage.
Whereas Dust Collector focuses largely on our inner dialogue, Sabotage helps us rid our lives of outside negative forces. Unfortunately, these forces are not always obvious, so Sabotage teaches us how to spot the seemingly innocuous people or circumstances that can lead us down a negative path. He uses as an example the group of college friends that ask you to go out for "a few drinks" the night before a big exam. They probably don't mean any harm; like most college students, they just want to have fun.
